A Walk to Remember

The Hospice Foundation of the East Bay is presenting its second annual A Walk to Remember  for family and friends to gather together to celebrate the lives of their loved ones and raise funds to benefit Hospice of the East Bay.  Held at the Martinez Marina Amphitheater on Saturday, May 17 (10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.), the day will include music, food, a memory lane with photographs, and a reading of the names of those being remembered.

Walk participants are asked to gather donations from family, friends, co-workers and neighbors in memory of their loved ones (donations are tax-deductible).  Participants will also include Hospice staff and volunteers.  The “official” walk through the Martinez Regional Shoreline Park (approx 1.5 miles) will begin at 10:30 a.m.  Those who are less adventurous are invited to stroll along the memory lane around the amphitheater where photos of those being remembered will be displayed.

All participants will gather in the amphitheater at noon for a reading of the names followed by a memory lap around the amphitheater.  This is a family oriented event for all ages…strollers and wheelchairs are welcome!!

Bring your walking shoes (or not) and photos of your loved ones and join us at A Walk to Remember on Saturday, May 17.  You can come for just an hour or stay all day, but please do come and celebrate with us.

Registration packets are available for participants to begin gathering donations.  There is no fee to register, but each participant (family) agrees to collect or donate a suggested minimum of $25.00.
